Define the brief
We discuss your goals, suburb, available information and project priorities. A written scope sets out the drawing package, fees, required inputs and intended use.
Good project progress depends on clear decisions and the right information at the right stage. Here is how your design connects to the wider project team.
We discuss your goals, suburb, available information and project priorities. A written scope sets out the drawing package, fees, required inputs and intended use.
Layouts, elevations and 3D modelling where included help you review the proposal. Feedback is brought together before the agreed documentation progresses.
We coordinate relevant consultant inputs and flag information needed to progress the drawings. Engineering, sustainability and site constraints are considered alongside the design.
The application follows the pathway appropriate to the property and proposal. KOZGRID prepares the agreed drawing information and coordinates responses to relevant assessment requests within scope.
The agreed drawings are issued for their stated purpose. Any further construction detailing or revisions are confirmed in writing. Your builder and appointed professionals confirm that required approvals, documentation and pre-start requirements are in place.
The pathway depends on your site and proposal. Check the applicable requirements with council or a registered certifier before committing to work.
Council assesses a development application (DA). Where building work requires development consent, a construction certificate is generally also needed before building starts.
KOZGRID’s role: the agreed residential drawings and coordination of relevant supporting information.
For eligible proposals meeting the relevant standards, council or a registered certifier may issue a complying development certificate (CDC). A separate construction certificate is not required for work approved by a CDC.
KOZGRID’s role: documentation prepared for assessment, with coordinated revisions where included.
The owner appoints the certifier independently. Required approvals and pre-start requirements must be satisfied before construction. The principal certifier carries out the required inspection and certification role; KOZGRID does not issue approvals or certify building safety.
NSW Government: building approvals ↗We help keep the drawing information connected. Specialist appointments, deliverables and fees are agreed for your project; every practitioner retains responsibility for their own work.
Residential building design, technical drawing, digital documentation and design coordination within the agreed scope.
Site, level and boundary information appropriate to the project, provided by the relevant qualified practitioner.
Structural, civil, hydraulic or stormwater design and certification where required, by appropriately qualified practitioners.
Relevant energy, water and thermal performance assessments. We coordinate the resulting design commitments with the drawings where required.
About BASIX ↗Assessment and statutory certification within their respective roles. Your certifier is independently appointed by you.
Construction delivery and site safety rest with the responsible contractor. Bushfire, geotechnical, arborist and other specialist input may also be needed.
Send your suburb, project type and what you want to achieve.
We’ll discuss the information needed and scope the next step.
